Meet Our Coaches
A former U.S National team player and seasoned professional having played for 16 years in Japan, Sweden, Italy (2-time Italian champions), Germany and Switzerland. She holds a USSF “B” license and currently the Head Coach for Maryland Olympic Development Program U17s and is the middle school coach for Sandy Spring Friends School. She was inducted into the Maryland Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Springbrook High School Hall of Fame in 2015. Jill formerly coached at OBGC, Brit-Am, and most recently at FCGB.
Hector Morales Jr., a 3-time MD 4A State Championship coach, began his playing career at Sherwood HS where he was selected to the MD All-State team in his senior year. He continued his playing career as a Division I soccer player at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. Hector’s coaching career started at Sherwood HS as an assistant, eventually becoming the head coach in 2001 and leading the Warriors to consecutive state titles in 2004 and 2005. He is currently the head coach of the Boys Varsity team at Walter Johnson High School where he won his third State title in 2016. Hector holds NSCAA National and Advanced National diplomas as well as a Goalkeeping Diploma and a USSF License.
In addition to his coaching duties, he serves as the Treasurer and Montgomery County Representative for the All-State 1st Team Committee for the Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer (MACS) and MCPS District II Representative.
A passionate youth coach focusing on developing players and cultivating a life-long love for the beautiful game. For the past 5 years he has worked with young players on technical development and building their soccer IQ while always maintaining a fun, creative, and positive environment. Javier is currently the youth development coach for ROSA Legends helping build a strong foundation for the club’s future.
Jimmy The passion for soccer runs deep for Jimmy from growing up in soccer crazed Miami, FL and starting play at 3 years old. Being a part of many state championship youth teams growing up, youth soccer has been a staple to his upbringing. Playing through middle and high school, soccer life was a mainstay for the Stringer family. Being a passionate Liverpool fan, soccer never left his fan-ship and as his own five kids grew to the age to enter the soccer realm, dad sprang into action. Going on his seventh year coaching youth soccer for both girls and boys, Jimmy’s weekends are filled with corner kicks and throw-ins from dawn to dusk…and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Paul played soccer in his native England through college and over the last decade has coached a wide variety of teams. He holds a US Soccer National “D” License and fully embraces the instructed methodology that encourages a player-centric approach of guided discovery and independent decision making.
Coach Roger is a former professional soccer player who represented his native country Ivory Coast at various youth levels. Coach Roger’s wealth of playing experience includes DC United, Philadelphia Furry, and San Antonio Scorpions in the US. Coach Roger also played for several European teams such as Suttgart, Ludwisburg, Bissigenfrom Germany, Beveren FC from Belgium, Koping ff Sweden, Vissai Ninh binh In Vietnam, and Yarmouk in Kuwait.
Coach Roger also played for Sherwood highschool 2005-2008 and earned his varsity letter as a freshmen. Coach Roger holds the USSF E Coaching License. Whether he’s coaching one of his teams or doing a private personal training, Coach Roger focuses on developing each player’s basic technical skills in order for them to be successful wherever they play. Coach Roger designs every drill to fit each player’s specific needs. No one player is the same. Coach Roger really enjoys doing private individual trainings because it gives him an opportunity to really help the player develop by giving him/her his undivided attention to answer questions, go over things as many times as needed and working on specific things the players need.
Clayton grew up playing soccer in the Lehigh Valley northwest of Philadelphia. He attended and played at Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA before going on to play at Division III Gettysburg College for 4 years. As a Bullet he was part of teams that appeared in 3 NCAA tournaments (1998, 1999, and 2001), a Centennial Conference Champions (1999, 2001), and ECAC Championship in 2000. During his collegiate summers he coached at various youth and college soccer camps and earned his National D coaching license. After college he coached boys and girls high school and club level teams in PA before relocating to Washington, DC to pursue a career in business. Clayton lives with his family in Rockville, MD and enjoys giving back to the game and helping his kids and their teammates learn and experience the same lessons the game taught him growing up.
Angie has been with ROSA since its foundation in 2020 as an assistant coach under Jill Rutten. She has worked as an assistant to Coach Jill for approximately 10 years through Brit-Am Soccer Academy, OBGC, FC Bordeaux’s Center of Excellence, and Sandy Spring Friends School. Angela has worked for over 18 years coaching, scheduling, and organizing youth soccer programs. She played four years at an NCAA Division 3 college, and also stayed on an additional year to be the assistant coach. She also coached the high school girls’ soccer team at a small local Christian School. Angela hold a USSF D Coaching license.
Eric is a Certified Personal Trainer with a specialization in Sports & Conditioning and is ROSA Legends’ in-house Speed and Agility coach. Eric focuses on the tools every athlete needs: balance, change of direction, first step quickness, overall speed, and much more, working with our teams to challenge, engage, and stimulate their awareness of how their growing bodies be can utilized optimally for sport specific movement and general play.
